You have questions, I have (some) answers

  • I don't do toxic positivity. I won't gaslight you into feeling like everything is fine when it's not. If you're struggling, I'm not going to tell you that you shouldn't feel that way.

I also won't shame you for using behaviors that have helped you cope, even if they're not serving you anymore. Those behaviors were adaptive. They kept you going. And that deserves acknowledgment before we talk about what comes next.

My job is to show up for you wherever you are, whether that means listening quietly while you work through something, offering tools and prompts to try between sessions, or challenging thoughts that are keeping you stuck.

You're the main character here. I'm just a witness, and a guide when you need one.

  • I don't accept insurance directly, but I'm happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

I know therapy is an investment, and if working with an in-network provider is what you need right now, I'm happy to help you find someone who might be a good fit.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes, and we'll typically start by meeting weekly. As you make progress toward your goals, we can talk about spacing sessions out.

Frequency is flexible and depends on what works for your life and your budget. We'll figure it out together.

  • All sessions will take place via a HIPAA-compliant Telehealth platform.

  • I am licensed in North Carolina, California, Virginia, and Utah, so as a therapist, I can see you as long as you are physically located in one of these states.

  • Health at Every Size® is a weight-inclusive approach based on a set of principles that advocates for equitable care for all and the right for people of all sizes to receive care free from anti-fat bias. It is often misunderstood as “healthy at every size,” and it is important to remember that body size alone is not indicative of someone’s health status.

  • I know this question is on your mind, and I wish I could give you a definitive answer that feels safe. The truth is, no one can predict exactly what your body will do in recovery. Your body gets the final say, and we won't know where it wants to settle until it feels safe and fully nourished.

That process takes time. It requires consistency, trust, and feeding your body adequately, not just for a few weeks, but for as long as it takes for your body to believe that restriction isn't coming back.

This is hard. And I'm here to walk through it with you, especially when fear shows up.

  • No, and here's why: I'm not here to create a new set of rules for you to follow. You've had enough of those.

What I will do is help you reconnect with your body's signals, challenge the food rules that are keeping you stuck, and support you in finding what actually works for your life, not some idealized version of "clean eating" or perfection.

If you want nutritional support, I'm happy to collaborate with dietitians I trust. But I won't be another voice telling you what's "right" or "wrong." You already have enough of those in your head.

  • Unfortunately, weight bias in healthcare is real, and it's harmful. While I can't control what a doctor will say, I can help you prepare for appointments, practice advocating for yourself, and talk through how to navigate those conversations.

We can also explore the flawed tools (like BMI) that the medical field still relies on and why they don't actually measure health the way we've been told they do.

If collaboration with your medical team feels important, I'm happy to support that too.

  • No. You are the expert on your own life, and I deeply believe in your agency.

I'm here to help you explore the pros and cons of different choices, identify what matters most to you, and hold space for your process. But I won't dictate your path or pull the rug out from under you.

If accountability is something you want, we can build that in. But at the end of the day, you're in control, not me.

  • Absolutely not! Your therapy session is your time, and I’m not here to limit what you can and can’t talk about. Often, the things we’re struggling with intersect with other “life” things, and that is 100% okay (and encouraged!) to talk about when it feels helpful.
